The best HVAC lead generation companies split into two kinds: sellers who bill per contact, and agencies that bill monthly to build channels you own.

This page compares the sellers and platforms an HVAC company can sign with, each on its published terms.

For the system behind the companies, start with HVAC lead generation; take the cost per lead benchmarks before comparing prices.

How this list was built

Almost nothing that ranks for this search is a list of lead sellers.

The one dedicated roundup, Built-Right Digital's "8 Best HVAC Lead Generation Companies in 2026," names agencies, not marketplaces, and ranks its author first.

So this page covers the lead sources the search surfaces, plus agencies checked on their own sites.

Every company below was checked on its own site in September and October 2026; every price, term and quote is that company's.

Names that could not be verified on their own sites are left out.

HVAC lead generation services: the sellers that bill per contact

Google Local Services Ads

Google's Local Services Ads put you in a pay-per-lead position on Search and Maps: you pay for valid leads (calls, messages, bookings), not clicks, against an average weekly budget (Google's help pages, as of September 2026).

Google publishes no HVAC lead price, and says lead prices vary by location, job type, lead type and bidding mode, with message leads typically priced lower than phone leads.

HVAC is an urgent category there, so Google lists heavier screening for it: business, owner and service-professional background checks, liability insurance, and state-level licenses where local law requires them, which Google says takes 3 to 4 weeks on average.

The old Google Guaranteed badge and its Money Back Guarantee are gone, replaced by a single Google Verified badge; reimbursement applied only to services booked through the ads before December 7, 2025.

Google is also migrating these campaigns into Performance Max with pay-per-lead goals, starting August 2026 for select US advertisers including HVAC, with service-area businesses without storefronts in the "Late 2026" phase.

Angi

Angi sells shared leads: each homeowner request goes to no more than five pros, and a lead is not a guaranteed job (Angi's help center, as of October 1, 2026).

It publishes no lead price: pricing varies based on task, homeowner location and demand for the work.

Billing runs one of two ways, an annual subscription billed monthly or pay-per-lead billed weekly; you are charged whether or not you open the lead, the monthly budget is a target, not a cap, and Opportunities are charged on top.

Credits have conditions: pay-per-lead pros can request them for listed reasons (invalid contact info, wrong location, duplicates), you must have attempted to call the homeowner within 24 hours, and annual-subscription leads get none.

Cancelling takes a phone call to Angi's Customer Care team, at 877-947-3639.

HomeAdvisor and CraftJack now land pros on Angi's sign-up pages: on October 1, 2026, both brands' pro sign-up links led there.

Thumbtack

Thumbtack makes you the pricer: you set the exact price per lead inside a weekly budget, and at the limit leads stop until next week (Thumbtack's help pages, as of October 1, 2026).

There is no subscription: its pro page says no charge to join, no annual fees and no contracts.

For Opportunities, requests you reach out on first, you pay only if the customer responds; Preset jobs instead keep a percentage of the job price.

The shared-lead caveat: a customer can contact five pros in the first four hours, and more after that.

If a customer doesn't reply to any pro within 72 hours, Thumbtack automatically refunds the lead, and you can request a refund within 45 days, at its sole discretion.

99 Calls

99 Calls sells exclusive leads plus done-for-you marketing across organic search, Google Ads and Local Services Ads, "with every lead sent to just one company" (its HVAC page).

It posts numbers: $54.99 flat per organic SEO lead, plus nationwide averages of $164 to $414 per Google Ads lead and $39 to $111 per LSA lead (the 10th to 90th percentile of its clients' costs over 12 months, self-reported).

Packages run from $99 a month plus $249 setup to $4,999 at Growth-Enterprise, with a 15%-of-spend Google Ads fee on the Growth tier, and "No contracts, every tier."

It has sold to contractors since 2010 and self-reports 540+ HVAC contractors served.

33 Mile Radius

33 Mile Radius sells exclusive live phone calls: all of its HVAC leads go to one contractor, with the customer on the line.

Its pricing page publishes no number: cost per lead varies by service area, so you contact the company for yours (as of October 2026).

The billable rules matter more: its homepage FAQ says a lead is typically billable if "The call remains unanswered (4 rings or more)," if it is "directed to voicemail, irrespective of whether a message is left," or if an automated answering system responds.

No setup or monthly fees, no long-term contracts, pause anytime, and valid leads bill by weekly card charges.

eLocal

eLocal sells pay-per-call and form leads across home services, HVAC named; its live calls go exclusively to one advertiser, though it cannot guarantee the caller is not dialing another business too.

Form leads can be exclusive or shared: opt for shared and you plus up to four other businesses receive the lead.

You are charged only when a valid call or lead is sent, funded by a deposit that draws down; you set coverage area, hours and pricing, with no contracts (its advertising page, October 1, 2026).

No per-call price is published; the company says it has worked since 2008 and self-reports over 11 million real-time call leads a year.

Modernize

Modernize, owned by QuinStreet, says it matches homeowners searching HVAC projects to licensed pros by location, availability and project needs.

It sells by consultation: "We custom build you a program based on annual revenue," with products named Marketplace Solutions, Calls and 360 Finance (its pro pages, October 1, 2026).

Pricing, exclusivity and contract terms are not published.

Networx

Networx advertises exclusive leads from local homeowners and lists HVAC among its services.

Nothing else is published: pricing, lead terms and contracts are not shown before sign-up (its lead-generation page, October 1, 2026).

Yelp Ads and Nextdoor Ads

Yelp Ads is an ad channel, not a per-lead seller: Yelp's pricing page lists it from $150 a month, cancel anytime, and "spend as little as $5/day on average."

Nextdoor sells ads and a free business page on a neighborhood network, with no ad price or minimum on the page read.

The agency side of the field

Agencies bill monthly instead; the five below were checked on their own sites, and best HVAC marketing companies compares the agency field in full.

  • RYNO Strategic Solutions (formerly Blue Corona): merged effective October 1, 2024 under the RYNO brand, owned by EverService Holdings, a Sunstone Partners portfolio company; services run from websites and SEO to LSA, OTT and CSR training; Blue Corona's FAQ (August 2024) put ongoing SEO at $1,500 to $20,000+ a month.
  • Rival Digital: a home-services agency, HVAC among several trades, listing web design, local SEO, LSA management and PPC; pricing is not published beyond "wallet-friendly options," and its contact form marks sub-$1M companies as not a fit.
  • Hook Agency: publishes Local SEO from $2,800 a month, Meta ads from $3,000, websites at $12,000 or $24,000, says its SEO contracts start as 12-month contracts, calls itself usually the best fit for contractors over $3M; an older homepage FAQ answer still says it does not do social ads.
  • Built-Right Digital: its pricing page (October 1, 2026) lists Essentials at $1,499 a month, Launch at $2,499 for up to $1M businesses, Scale at $4,999 for up to $5M, Pro custom; its FAQ says full-service plans run month to month, while its terms default to six-month SEO and three-month paid-ads minimums when a quote is silent.
  • Mediagistic: a 120-plus-person agency in Tampa whose published packages run from $249 a month for sub-$1M businesses through LeadBuilder from $3,500, LeadBuilder Pro from $6,250 and MarketLeader from $8,750, with LSA management from $750; contract terms are not published.

What is the best lead generation for HVAC companies?

We found no verified ranking, and every list that scores these companies was written by one of them.

Renting contacts: buying leads

  • Per-lead billing never stops, and a shared lead may reach up to four other shops at once.
  • Billing rules can charge you before anyone speaks: 33 Mile Radius typically bills a call that rings four times unanswered.
  • Speed sells: call every lead inside an hour.

Building channels: SEO, CRO, managed ads

  • Your website, Google Business Profile and reviews produce contacts that never carry a per-lead fee.
  • Managed Meta ads from More Booked Installs run $3,000 a month flat plus a $2,500 setup, 3-month minimum: 8 to 12 static image ads a month, landing pages Gabe builds, and you pay Meta directly (spend minimum $3,000 a month, never marked up).
  • CRO and local SEO are $2,500 a month each, or $5,000 together.
  • No per-lead pricing and no guarantees: anyone who guarantees leads or rankings is guessing.

If you buy leads, the contract terms are collected in buying HVAC leads; on consent, the FCC's one-to-one rule, which would have required a shared-lead form to name each seller, was vacated by the 11th Circuit and removed from the FCC's rules on July 14, 2025, with the "revoke-all" rule delayed to January 31, 2027 (FCC orders DA 25-621 and DA 26-12), so confirm current requirements with an attorney.

Before signing, six questions separate a workable lead deal from an expensive one.

  • What exactly counts as a billable lead: is a call nobody answered billable?
  • How many companies receive the same contact?
  • What is the published price, and what moves it?
  • What happens on a bad lead: credit, refund, or nothing, and by when?
  • Can you pause or cancel, and does it take a phone call?
  • If the seller builds anything, who owns it when you leave?

One more filter beats any list: leads land on your phone and your website, and a weak handoff wastes what you paid for.

More Booked Installs works on that half: one controlled test a month on the calls that start on your website, run by Gabe Meierotto, Director of CRO at LaserAway from 2018 to 2023, where sitewide conversion went from 3% to 11% under his testing program, and before that click-to-call tests at Sourcely, where conversion rate rose by up to 50% in some cases.

Frequently asked questions

Which lead generation company is best for HVAC companies?

We found no verified ranking: the roundups that score these companies are written by agencies that place themselves first. Decide whether you want to rent contacts per lead or build channels you own, then compare published terms inside that model.

How much do Angi leads cost for HVAC?

Angi publishes no HVAC lead price: its help center says lead pricing varies based on task, homeowner location and demand for the work (as of October 1, 2026). Dollar figures in third-party blog posts have no Angi source behind them.

Does Thumbtack charge a subscription?

No: Thumbtack's pro page says there is no subscription cost, no charge to join and no contracts, and you set the exact price you pay per lead within a weekly budget. For Opportunities you reach out first and pay only if the customer responds.

What is the difference between a lead seller and a lead generation agency?

A lead seller charges you for each contact and hands it over; an agency runs channels such as SEO, ads and conversion testing for a monthly fee, and the contacts those channels produce carry no per-lead price.

Why does HomeAdvisor now point to Angi?

On October 1, 2026, HomeAdvisor's pro sign-up link and CraftJack's homepage both led to Angi's pro sign-up pages. Neither brand has published an announcement this page could verify.

How do Google Local Services Ads charge HVAC companies?

You pay per valid lead (calls, messages and bookings) against an average weekly budget, and Google publishes no HVAC lead price (its help pages, as of September 2026). HVAC is an urgent category there, so expect background checks, insurance and license screening that Google says takes 3 to 4 weeks on average.
